We make your culture a success factor.

Your corporate culture is the invisible operating system that determines how people lead and work together. If it does not fit the strategy, it quietly slows down every change process. Yet culture is often dismissed as a “soft” issue because there is no shared language and no reliable data to work on it constructively. Our role as consultants is to make sure transformation is carried by your culture instead of failing because of it. Together, we answer the key questions:

The questions we answer with you

  • How can the culture people actually live become visible and discussable?
  • Which cultural patterns support our strategy, and which hold it back?
  • How do we design a target culture that actively drives change?
  • What are the key levers for embedding this culture in everyday work?
  • How should the intervention architecture be built to reach the target culture?
Portrait of Laura Wruck
„Culture is not created by decisions but by everyday practice. It shows not in mission statements but in what people do each day.“

How can you change culture when you cannot order it?

We look at corporate culture systemically, as a fundamental part of everything that happens in a company. At the same time, it can only be steered directly to a limited extent. You cannot decide on a culture; you can only change it indirectly. There is no “good” or “bad” culture, only one that holds you back or one that helps. That is why your culture needs close attention throughout a transformation, always in the context of your corporate strategy and goals. In practice, this means: we bring cultural patterns into the open instead of moralising about them. We combine qualitative and quantitative methods to make culture tangible. We move culture from “gut feeling” onto the management agenda and, by focusing on dialogue and clarification, build an understanding that holds.

Cultural blockage becomes the capacity to develop. Contradictions become clarity. Identity becomes strength for the future.

The Systemic Culture Compass

The Systemic Culture Compass makes the lived culture of your organisation measurable. It maps its defining traits onto four basic orientations: collaborate, create, compete and control. None is better than the others. What matters is whether the culture as lived supports or hinders your strategy.

How we work with the Culture Compass

Our services

Our job is to turn your culture from an invisible obstacle into a visible success factor. Our work focuses on two core services that deliver concrete, measurable effects.

Core services

1. Systemic culture analysis (“Culture Radar”)

Our “Culture Radar” makes the implicit patterns in your organisation visible, discussable and workable. We combine qualitative and quantitative methods to capture the culture as it is actually lived. This turns culture from a “gut feeling” into a strategic management issue. The findings lay the foundation for targeted culture development and identify the levers that make change work.

2. Targeted culture development

As corporate culture consultants, we help your organisation develop its culture deliberately, as a lever for performance, focused collaboration and the ability to change. We design an intervention architecture that fits and implement it together with you. The result is a culture that enables organisational learning and actively supports your corporate strategy and goals.

Culture development at WIKA: surveying the lived culture worldwide

How the WIKA Group surveyed its corporate culture across all regions with its Strategy 2030 in mind: using a survey, interviews and the Systemic Culture Compass.

  • Global culture survey in 2022 across four regions: an online survey based on the Systemic Culture Compass, followed up with qualitative one-to-one interviews.
  • Survey and interviews completed in all regions; management announced that it would review the results with the management team and the regional core teams.
  • A bilingual website supported the survey with its goals, process, background and answers to frequently asked questions.

Frequently asked questions on the field of action Culture

When is culture the right place to start?

When what shapes your organisation today slows its renewal tomorrow. A typical starting point is “culture as a brake”: patterns of thinking and acting that worked in the past now stand in the way of necessary development. Strategy and everyday reality drift further apart. Approved strategies fail in implementation because cultural patterns work against them. And culture change achieves nothing if it is started in isolation from strategy.

What should be different at the end?

Our promise: strengthening culture and identity. Cultural blockage turns into the ability to develop. Contradictions turn into clarity. Identity turns into strength for the future. transformis® is a consultancy for systemic culture work embedded in strategy. We advise and support companies in using and developing culture deliberately as a lever for performance, focused collaboration and the ability to change. We see culture as an enabler for developing and implementing corporate strategy.

How is your approach different from conventional consulting?

We look at corporate culture systemically, as a fundamental part of everything that happens in a company. At the same time, it can only be steered directly to a limited extent. You cannot decide on a culture; you can only change it indirectly. There is no “good” or “bad” culture, only one that holds you back or one that helps.

Which services does culture change consulting cover?

We group the 12 services in this field into 2 areas: “Making culture visible” and “Developing culture deliberately”. Those described in detail include culture analysis, corporate culture development, Smart Decision Culture and employer attractiveness. The full overview is further up this page; in the initial call, we relate each service to your situation.

How does working together look in practice?

We facilitate every working session, agree all results together in the room and document them online. Each session ends with minutes accepted by everyone present. Afterwards, transformis reviews each session internally and uses what it learns to prepare the next one.

When is it worth bringing in external consultants?

External consultants add clear value when blind spots need uncovering, unhelpful established patterns need breaking, complex change needs facilitating, structuring and stabilising, or when neutrality and independence are needed, especially if conflict, competing goals or internal politics are blocking decisions.

What figures and experience back up our culture work?

The “Global Innovation 1000” study series by Booz & Company (2004 to 2011), analysed in the transformis white paper “New Work” (2021), shows culture to be a key factor in successful innovation: companies whose innovation strategy was backed by their culture achieved 33 per cent more enterprise value and 17 per cent profit growth over five years. Robert A. Sedlák, founder and CEO, in PVH-Magazin 2021: “Culture is central to a company’s identity and cannot be changed at the push of a button or by decree.”

Who will work with us, and how do we get started?

Your contacts are Laura Wruck (Head of the Values and Corporate Culture competence team, Senior Project Manager, business mediator) and Eva Scholz (Senior Consultant, Head of the Organisation competence team, business mediator). We start with an initial call about your situation, the people involved and the right next step. External consultants provide structure and fresh observations, not the business decision itself; that responsibility stays with you.
