Together with you, we develop the organisation your transformation needs.

Your strategy is clear and the leadership team shares the goals. Now you need the right organisation to overcome resistance, break down silos and build momentum. Successful organisational development is not a matter of chance but the result of a deliberate design process, based on your vision of the future and your transformation goals. Our role as organisational development consultants is to design a working architecture that draws on your organisation’s own knowledge (its system intelligence) to arrive at the right organisational design. Together we answer the key questions:

The questions we answer with you

  • What does the organisation need to deliver to reach its goals?
  • Which levers will make the decisive difference?
  • Which roles are strategically important, and what does that require of the people in them?
  • Which tasks could digitalisation or AI handle more efficiently?
  • What does this mean for organisational structure and processes?

Why can’t you simply restructure an organisation from outside?

Because an organisation is a highly complex social system. It clings to proven routines even when they are no longer needed, so effective organisational development is more than moving boxes around an organisation chart. Real change only happens when organisational structure and processes connect your strategy, culture, people and operational reality, guided by your vision of the future and your transformation goals.

Friction becomes collaboration. Coordination becomes decision. Structure becomes future viability.

Our services

Our job as consultants is to design the architecture for your organisational transformation. The result is four concrete core services.

Core services

1. An architecture for developing your organisation

We design the basic working structure using your organisation’s system intelligence. The result: clear responsibilities, fast decisions and a structure and processes that respond to market changes with foresight and flexibility and help you reach your transformation goals.

2. Designing your core processes

We build structures that create transparency, simplify communication and decisions, and strengthen the organisation’s ability to steer itself. The result is an effective framework that promotes efficiency, quality and ownership.

3. Realigning your organisation (reset)

The result is a realigned organisation that fits: away from structures that add no value, towards an efficient and deliberately managed use of resources. This creates room for performance, quality and flexibility, in line with your vision of the future and your transformation goals.

4. Embedding your new organisation for the long term

Together we plan how the new organisation is introduced, so that your new direction is embedded beyond the planning stage. A coordinated approach that combines learning and change produces an implementation that works and that people support.

Developing strategy and organisation together in a trading group

How a trading group turned new market requirements into a vision of the future, clear functions and new ways of working together.

  • A vision of the future built from analyses and evaluated business model options, presented in July 2017.
  • An organisational design derived from that vision and approved for implementation by the relevant bodies.
  • Separate, documented functions in the merchandise area and clear responsibility for looking after members as a whole.

Frequently asked questions on the field of action Organisation

When is organisational development the right starting point?

When good ideas get stuck in silos. A typical starting point is “Trapped in silos”: structures that have grown over time, departmental thinking and long decision paths slow down cooperation, speed and execution. Organisations have natural tendencies that lead them into serious problems unless their leaders are able to counteract them.

What should be different at the end?

Our promise: realign the organisation. Friction becomes collaboration. Endless coordination becomes decision. Structure becomes future viability. transformis® is an organisational development consultancy with a systemic approach and a clear focus on structure, processes, communication and decision-making.

How is your approach different from conventional consulting?

An organisation is a highly complex social system that cannot simply be rebuilt from outside. It clings to proven routines even when they are no longer needed. That is why effective organisational development is more than moving boxes around an organisation chart.

What organisational development services does transformis offer?

We group the 34 services in this field of action into 4 areas: “Shape transformation”, “Understand the organisation”, “Structures, roles and decisions” and “Collaboration and the ability to learn”. Those described in detail include transformation architectures, change communication, post-merger integration and organisational diagnostics. The full overview is further up this page; in the initial call, we relate each service to your situation.

How does working together look in practice?

We facilitate every working session, agree all results together in the room and document them online. Each session ends with minutes accepted by everyone present. Afterwards, transformis reviews each session internally and uses what it learns to prepare the next one.

When is it worth bringing in external consultants?

External consultants add clear value when blind spots need uncovering, unhelpful established patterns need breaking, complex change needs facilitating, structuring and stabilising, or when neutrality and independence are needed, especially if conflict, competing goals or internal politics are blocking decisions.

What results lie behind our organisational development work?

In a documented logistics project, twelve of 13 leadership positions were filled internally after the organisational diagnosis, according to the project report. In the DVVision programme, reviews in 2023 and a clarified division of roles between line management and corporate development are documented. Markus Peterhänsel in PVH-Magazin 2021: “The broad involvement of the E/D/E leadership team and the use of the system intelligence of the organisation and of the wider association were decisive for the success of the process.”

Who will work with us, and how do we get started?

Your contacts are Markus Peterhänsel (Senior Expert in Strategy and Organisational Development) and Eva Scholz (Senior Consultant, head of the Organisation competence team, business mediator). We start with an initial call about your situation, the people involved and the right next step. Outside advisers bring structure and fresh observations, not the business decision; that responsibility stays with you.
