We give your future a clear direction.

Transformation is bound to fail if the organisation and its people are not clear about where they are heading. This is where strategy work matters most. We see strategy as a leadership responsibility that cannot be delegated. As strategy consultants, our role is to advise and support you through this intensive process of dialogue, and to bring in impulses and perspectives where they count. Together we find clear answers to the key strategic questions and build shared ownership of them across the leadership team:

The questions we answer with you

  • Who are we, and how do we see ourselves?
  • Which markets do we want to position ourselves in?
  • Which customer groups do we want to focus on?
  • What unique value do we offer?
  • How do we stand out from the competition?
  • Which transformation goals will take us to our picture of the future?

„Strategic transformation is not a linear project. It is the decision not to leave your future to chance.“

How does our strategy work differ from conventional expert consulting?

Conventional expert consulting often tries to fit a company, from the outside, to an environment it assumes can be planned. The usual result is standard solutions everyone has seen before. We work differently. We deliberately challenge the established ways your organisation observes and decides. We bring blind spots to light and introduce new impulses so that genuine alternatives can emerge. We enable your organisation to draw on its own collective intelligence and develop a distinctive picture of its future. This builds, from the very start, the energy needed to implement with determination and to overcome the resistance that naturally arises in any organisation during implementation.

A circular process of loose coupling and mutual influence

Worry about the future gives way to confidence. Reacting gives way to shaping the future with foresight. Strategy becomes a lasting capacity for self-renewal.

Our services

Our main task is to design a way of working and a process that release the full potential of your organisation. Together we identify your blind spots and use new perspectives to open up strategic options beyond your current frame of thinking. The result is a picture of the future that clearly marks the difference between today and tomorrow and gives your transformation a clear sense of direction.

Core services

1. Analysing your market position

We look not only at who your customers are, but at why they should choose you. This lays the foundation for structuring your value creation around customer benefit, with the aim of genuine customer loyalty.

2. Developing your distinctive positioning

We develop tailored strategic options built on your distinctive capabilities. The result is not a rigid plan but an adaptive framework that holds even when markets shift.

3. Translating strategy into key figures and guardrails

We translate your positioning into a coherent system of goals and processes, so that every activity in the company is consistently aligned with the shared strategy.

4. Determined implementation across your organisation

We design an implementation process that treats the transformation of your organisation as an integral part of the strategy. That way, change takes lasting root in your organisation and in everyday work.

Frequently asked questions on the field of action Strategy

When is strategy the right place to start?

When your organisation relies more on yesterday than it is prepared for tomorrow. A typical starting point is a business model under pressure: what used to work is losing its effect, and markets, technologies, competition or customer expectations are changing faster than your company. Approaching strategy development this way means letting go of the assumption that strategy can calculate the future and offer reliable certainty.

What should be different at the end?

What we promise: to secure your future viability and continuous strategic self-renewal. Worry about the future gives way to confidence. Reacting gives way to shaping the future with foresight. Strategy becomes a lasting capacity for self-renewal. Expertise in strategy development combined with a systemic view of organisational and strategy development, so that the process fits your organisation precisely.

How is your approach different from conventional consulting?

Conventional expert consulting often tries to fit a company, from the outside, to an environment it assumes can be planned. The usual result is standard solutions everyone has seen before. We work differently. We deliberately challenge the established ways your organisation observes and decides. We bring blind spots to light and introduce new impulses so that genuine alternatives can emerge.

Which services are part of the Strategy field of action?

We group the 35 services in this field of action into 4 areas: “Developing and renewing strategy”, “Positioning, customers and markets”, “Business model and growth” and “Reviewing, implementing and steering”. Services described in detail include strategic self-renewal, ambidexterity and agility, market positioning and Innovative Customer Segmentation (IKS). The full overview is further up this page, and in the initial call we relate each service to your situation.

How does working together look in practice?

We facilitate every working session, agree all results together in the room and document them online. Each session ends with minutes accepted by everyone present. Afterwards, transformis reviews each session internally and uses what it learns to prepare the next one.

When is it worth bringing in external consultants?

External consultants add clear value when blind spots need uncovering, unhelpful established patterns need breaking, complex change needs facilitating, structuring and stabilising, or when neutrality and independence are needed, especially if conflict, competing goals or internal politics are blocking decisions.

What figures and experience lie behind the Strategy field of action?

In the E/D/E Group’s strategy and organisational development programme EVOLUTION, the Innovative Stakeholder Analysis gathered more than 350,000 individual data points from around 1,500 decision-makers in 19 countries, as Markus Peterhänsel (Senior Expert for Strategy and Organisational Development) reported in PVH-Magazin in 2018. As Robert A. Sedlák, founder and CEO, put it in a 2019 interview: “An organisation sees what it sees. What it cannot see is what it is not seeing right now.”

Who will work with us, and how do we get started?

Your contacts are Jan-Niclas Bockard (Director, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of the Corporate Strategy competence team) and Markus Peterhänsel (Senior Expert for Strategy and Organisational Development). We begin with an initial call about your situation, the people involved and the right next step. External consultants bring structure and fresh observations, not the business decision itself; that responsibility stays with you.
